# Search Gmail, Drive, Calendar and Chat from Comma

## Overview

Connect your Google account, and Comma can search your mail, files, calendar and chats to find what a request needs. The connection reads; it does not send or edit.

## What you can do

### Prepare for a meeting

Get the event, the thread before it and the documents it refers to in one place.

> Prepare me for tomorrow's review: the invite, the related emails and the docs.

### Find an email

Find a thread by what it was about, not by its subject line.

> Find the email where we agreed on the launch date.

### Gather a project's files

Collect what is scattered across Drive and Chat.

> Find the documents and Chat messages about the Q3 plan.

## How to connect

1. **Open Plugins.** Choose Plugins in the sidebar, then Google Workspace. It is off by default while in Developer Preview.
2. **Connect Google.** Sign in and approve read access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar and Chat.
3. **Ask in chat.** Say what you are looking for and where it might be.

## FAQs

### Can Comma send email or edit documents?

No. This connection searches and reads only.

### Do I connect Gmail separately?

No. Gmail is part of Google Workspace, with Drive, Calendar and Chat.

### Can Comma tell me about mail and events that involve me?

Yes. Gmail, Google Calendar and Drive can each be a personal source. Comma reads them, finds what involves you and brings it up in chat.
